Gbolahan Salami Joins Turkish Club Denizlispor On One-Year Contract

Turkish club, Denizlispor, have announced the singing of Nigerian forward, Gbolahan Salami on a one-year contract, Completesportsnigeria. com reports.

The striker only linked up with Irtysh Pavlodar in January 2018 but left by mutual consent early this month.Salami, 27, last featured for Kazakhstani side, Irtysh Pavlodar .

“WELCOME WELCOME!
Our club has secured a one-year deal with Gbolahan Salami, a Nigerian Striker who played for Irtysh Pavlodar last season,” reads a tweet on Denizlispor’s official Twitter handle.

Salami has featured for the likes of defunct Julius Berger, Sunshine Stars, Shooting Stars, Enyimba and Warri Wolves in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

He once had stints in Serbia with Red Star Belgrade and Finnish club, KuPs.

He has represented Nigeria at the U-20, U-23 and senior levels.

Oghenekaro Etebo: Stoke City sign Feirense midfielder for £6.35m

Oghenekaro Etebo has won 14 caps for Nigeria Stoke City have signed Feirense midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo for £6.35m (7.2m euros) on a five-year deal. The 22-year-old, who spent the end of last season on loan at La Liga side Las Palmas, is in the Nigeria squad for the World Cup in Russia. "We're really excited to have got the deal over the line for Etebo," Potters boss Gary Rowett told the club website. "I'm looking forward to seeing him in a Stoke City shirt as I'm sure our supporters are too." He is the first signing made by Rowett since he left Derby to take charge of fellow Championship club Stoke in May.

Azango Joins KAA Gent On Three-Year Deal From Trencin

Nigeria winger, Philip Azango, has joined Belgian club, KAA Gent on a three-year deal from AS trencin Azango caught the eye of Gent officials following his impressive showing for Trencin in the UEFA Europa League this season. The 21-year-old scored a brace for Trencin in the win against Gornik Zabrze and was on target in the 4-0 victory against Dutch giants, Feyenoord. He follows the footsteps of Moses Simon and Samuel Kalu, products of the famous GBS Academy in Nigeria who featured for Trencin before securing moves to Gent. Azango was in action for Trencin in a Europa League play-off round clash against Cypriot club, AEK Lanarca on Thursday. The pacy winger once featured for Nigeria Professional Football League clubs, Nasarawa United and Plateau United.

Henry Onyekuru is thrilled to score his first goal for the Super Eagles in Wednesday’s 2-1 exhibition game win against the Lone Star of Liberia.I t was the first time Onyekuru who is loan at Turkish club, Galatasaray from Premier League outfit, Everton started a game for the Super Eagles.Onyekuru opened scoring for the Super Eagles in the game with Simeon Nwankwo netting the other goal. “1st Goal for my country! Onyekuru missed out on a place in Nigeria’s squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia due to injury.
